Brighter Sparks reviews Nude and discovers what the fuss is all about

'I've always been pretty lucky with my skin but every now and again it starts to show signs of stress or fatigue, with pimples appearing around my jawline. Unfortunately this is one of those times... After a really busy month at work and a string of late nights, my skin's started to feel slightly congested and has been in dire need of a bit of TLC. Previously when I've had a little break out of spots I've used my tried and tested brands to sooth and repair the skin. This time however I decided to take a bit of a gamble and try something new, which I'd been recommended by a good friend of mine.

If you haven't already heard of Nude Skincare then be ready to do quite a bit of catching up. Nude has hit the headlines not only for it's impressive anti-ageing credentials but also for their high-profile lawsuit with Stella McCartney over the use of the Nude fragrance name. That little upset aside, the brand has won praise in many of the leading fashion publications so I was intrigued to find out what all of the fuss was about...

I sampled the Cleansing Facial Oil (£27.40), the Deep Cleaning Mask (£27.40) and the Age Defence Moisturiser (£53.85). The Cleansing Facial Oil glides on easily and makes a pleasing change to many of the regular cleansers on the market. Having never used a facial oil previously I've been impressed with it's cleaning capabilities and the softness and elasticity of my skin following its use - great for skin which is prone to bouts of dryness in the winter months. The Deep Cleansing Mask was next up for review. The mask, which has the consistency of an exfoliator, is smoothed on and left to work its magic on clogged pores and troublesome areas for several minutes, before being washed off with warm water, igniting it's softly exfoliating properties. Exfoliation and deep cleansing. Double the benefits of a regular mask - result! To finish, I've been using Nude's much-loved Age Defence Moisturiser which cleverly moisturises the skin without leaving it feeling greasy or overloaded with product. Whilst this was great for my skin this time of the year I felt that during colder winter months it might require something heavier for skins prone to dryness. However, it's fair to say I was more than pleased with the results this time around and when the colder weather does roll around I'll be using their Age Defense Intense Moisturiser which has added moisture boosting properties (they really have thought of everything!).

While I can't comment on the anti-ageing properties of the products this early in the sampling process (I've only been using it for around 2 weeks), what I can say is that my skin is visibly clearer, smoother and brighter than it has been in quite some time. Seriously impressed and have to agree with all the wonderful press the brand has been receiving - we ♥ NUDE!'
